Highlight Tape Checklist by Sport
Build film that proves transactional value. Show role fit, not just athletic finishes. Every sport has clips coaches want to see.
Checklist Execution Rules (every sport)
- Show the athlete's name, jersey number, and role on screen within the first three seconds.
- Use clean, wide angles. Simple text labels only. No music that drowns out audio.
- Include at least one full-game sample so evaluators can judge aerobic conditioning and full-half decision making.
- Keep the highlight reel under four minutes. Save deep dives for the full-game link.
- Include the recording date and event name on every clip.
Priority clips
- Off-ball movement creating space for teammates
- First touch and body orientation under pressure
- Defensive recovery runs and 1v1 duels
- Set-piece delivery or aerial duels
Game IQ and spacing
- Scanning before receiving the ball
- Choosing the right pass over the flashy pass
- Communication with backline or midfield
- Reaction after losing possession
