At just 15 years old — turning 16 in July — Loris Sieber is the first Swiss American football player to join Football North's elite program. He's leaving home, crossing an ocean, and betting on himself — with a clear destination, a real plan, and a uniquely focused program behind him.
The Commitment
ScoutSync is proud to announce that Loris Sieber — Defensive End, Class of 2029, from Forch, Zurich, Switzerland — has officially committed to Football North and will be attending Clarkson Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This isn't just a student exchange. This is a calculated move — structured, supported, and built around one goal: finding an environment where Loris can develop personally, physically, and culturally, preparing himself in the best way possible to earn a US college football scholarship and pursue a university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Who Is Loris Sieber?
At 15 years old, 6'2", 192 lbs with a laser-timed 40-yard dash of 4.95 seconds — Loris is not a project. He is a young talent who needs the kind of elite, structured development that simply isn't available in Switzerland.
He has been playing tackle football since 2023 and flag football since 2021, competing simultaneously at both the U16 and U19 levels. He is a two-time Swiss National Champion in flag football, a Swiss National Champion in tackle, a European Championship participant (Serbia 2024), and a former team captain.
He unfortunately missed the entire 2025 U16 tackle season due to a shoulder injury but he came back more focused and stronger then ever.
"The shoulder setback challenged me both physically and mentally, but it strengthened my mindset. I am now fully fit, more motivated than ever, and determined to prove myself at every level of the game."
That's not a talking point. That's a kid who has already been tested — and demonstrated the level of focus and toughness it takes – but he knows this is just the start of the journey and it will take a lot of effort and hard work.
Why Canada? Why Now?
Like every country, Switzerland produces high-potential and exceptional athletes. What it cannot yet produce is the developmental infrastructure that North American football demands at the high school level — elite coaching, daily competition, film study, weight room culture, and direct exposure to college recruiters, coaches and programs.
Loris and his family understand this early. His goal is not simply to play football in Canada or USA for a year. His goal is to use this year as a launch pad — learn what it takes, build his profile and some film, develop physically and be coached by professional coaches. With a successful first year at Football North, he positions himself to continue that development over the remaining 2 years of his high school eligibility to make the right impressions for NCAA D1 or D2 scholarship opportunities by the time he graduates in 2029.
With the exposure ScoutSync creates, the ideal fit was found. Clarkson Secondary School — recognized as an international student institution and home to one of Canada's most elite football programs: Football North.
Football North is unique, even within the Canadian environment. Despite being based in Canada, Football North runs a full American football program — structured, operated, like a collegiate program. They travel and compete against elite American schools and academies, which creates both stiff competition and significant exposure for every player in the program. Football North is built with one purpose: prepare young student-athletes to make the jump to university student-athlete life successfully.
The program's Canadian location provides additional peace of mind for families. Canada’s reputation for safety and inclusivity, aligned with its stable political environment, in conjunction with the current currency exchange advantage, make the decision easier for parents supporting a young athlete's ambitions from abroad.

What Comes Next for Loris
Loris arrives at Clarkson Secondary School in mid-July as a Grade 11 student for camp. He will compete immediately within the Football North program, training five days a week year-round. His course selection — Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design Technology, and more — have been selected to meet both Ontario diploma requirements and US university Engineering admission prerequisites.

A Bigger Picture
Like any young athlete with real ambition, Loris has big goals. He would love to become the first Swiss-born player in the NFL — and beyond that, he wants to return to Switzerland as a coach, mentor, and spokesperson pushing for more development in Swiss football.
Whether or not the NFL becomes reality, the mission behind it is genuine: compete at the highest level he can reach, complete the student-athlete-to-scholarship journey that only a handful of Swiss players have ever achieved and to become a Mechanical Engineer throughout the process — whether that eventual destination is the NFL, CFL, a European league, or otherwise — he will be something greater then when he left!
