What Coaches Look For in Recruiting Film
A great highlight is not a great finish. It is a sequence that proves game IQ, spacing, and reliability. Build film that answers the questions coaches actually ask.
Off-ball positioning
Coaches watch where you are before the ball arrives. Feature clips where your movement creates the play, even if a teammate scores or another defender makes the tackle.
Communication and leadership
Audible calls, hand signals, and organizing teammates before a set piece or defensive rotation all read as maturity. Keep the audio clean enough to hear them.
Mid-game adjustments and recovery
Show a mistake, then show the very next possession. Coaches recruit athletes who reset. Isolated highlight finishes do not prove that.
